Ms. Marsha Ellen Kinsland Culver

Marsha Ellen Kinsland Culver, 63, of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away peacefully in Franklin, Tennessee on Friday, January 5, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Culver was born on August 13, 1954 to James and Maxine Kinsland in Huntland, Tennessee. She grew up in Estill Fork, on her family farm. Growing up, she loved playing outside with her siblings and helping with the farm animals. At the age of 12, Ms. Culver accepted Christ as her Savior and remained a faithful servant to her Heavenly Father for the remainder of her life. Immediately upon graduation from high school, Ms. Culver began training as a nurse and remained a nurse in Scottsboro for over 40 years. Her greatest passion in life was to care for others, and she was known for her deep love of her patients. At the age of 29, Ms. Culver became a proud mother to her son, Matthew. Throughout Matthew’s childhood, she consistently made sacrifices to provide for his needs and was a very loving mother. She loved going on adventures with her son, taking him camping on Lake Guntersville frequently. She worked tirelessly to care for him and truly took on her role of boy’s mom, insisting on being the parent who helped him learn how to play ball, went with him to Boy Scouts events and making sure he knew the proper way to fish. Ms. Culver spent her life prioritizing others’ happiness above her own and will be greatly missed by family and friends who knew her best. Her father, James Kinsland; her mother, Maxine Kinsland; her husband, Larry Culver; her brother-in-law, Edward Hardin and special friends, Bobbie and Bob Mullican, preceded Marsha Culver in death. She is survived by her loving son, Matthew (Krista Ella) Kinsland; her sister, Vickie Hardin; her brother, Jimmy (Carol) Kinsland; her nieces, Rhonda (Miguel) Sanchez and Rebecca (Willie) Fennell; her great-nephews, Patrick Burns, Leandro Sanchez, Issaih Vasquez and Adreeyon Vasquez and her great nieces, Jayla Hardin and Maria Vasquez. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Joe David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2018 at the funeral home. Arrangements Entrusted to Scottsboro Funeral Home.
