You touched my heart in so many ways, your smile showed through the pain, even on the worse of days. You heard God's whisper calling you home, you didn't want to go and leave me alone. You loved me so much, you held on tight, till all the strength was gone and you could no longer fight. He had called your name once before, you knew you couldn't make him wait anymore. So you gave your hand to God and slowly drifted away, knowing that with our love, we will be together again someday. Lelia Arnett Stephens, January 8, 1923 – April 4, 2015 Lelia Arnett Stephens, age 92, most recently of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away, April 4, 2015, at the Elmcroft of Little Avenue Senior Living in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was born January 8, 1923, in Salyersville, Kentucky to the late Henry Noble and Tressie Patrick Arnett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Melvin Stephens, Sr. Survivors include: her son Henry Melvin Stephens, Jr. and Patricia Stephens of Charlotte, North Carolina; one brother Jerry Kyle Arnett of Salyersville, Kentucky, and two sisters Vida Hudlow and her husband Horace “Bud” H. Hudlow, of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Rita Hickey and her husband Frank Hickey of Jackson, Kentucky. Three grandchildren: Lelia Jane Stephens, Charlotte, North Carolina; Henry Derrick Stephens, Greer, South Carolina; Michael Dean Davis, Los Angeles, California, and eight great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her husband and parents, Lelia was preceded in death by four brothers, Patrick Arnett, Wade Harris Arnett, Garland “Bo” Arnett and James Edward Arnett; two sisters, Ora Lee Minix and Anna L. Horne; and her grandson, Trevor James Davis. A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM CDT, Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Union Cemetery, Woodville, Alabama.
